This Privacy Policy explains how US Corporate Listings (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you use us-corporate-listings.com (the “Site”). US Corporate Listings is an independent, privately operated business directory and is not affiliated with any government agency.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: first and last name, email address, password (stored in hashed form) and an optional profile photo.
- Pro (business) information: business name, contact phone and email, website, address and service area, hours, licenses, photos and other details you add to a business listing. Business listing information is published on the Site unless you choose to hide your exact street address.
- Quote requests: when you request a quote, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), ZIP code and message.
- Reviews: star rating, review text, optional title, the service used and optional photos. Published reviews show your display name and profile photo.
- Questions & answers: questions you post on business profiles (published with your first name and last initial) and answers businesses post.
- “Get free quotes” requests: the service, location, timing, project description and contact details you enter.
- Business claims and support messages: information you provide to verify ownership of a business or when you contact us.
- Review invitations: if a business invites you to review it, the business gives us your name and email address so we can send you a one-time invitation on its behalf.
Information collected automatically
- Usage events: when visitors view a business profile, appear in search results, or click a business’s phone number or website, we record the event, the business and the time. We store a one-way hashed (non-reversible) version of the IP address to limit duplicate counting and abuse; we do not store raw IP addresses for these events.
- Cookies: we use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms against misuse. We do not use advertising cookies.
- Server logs: our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability.
How we use information
- To operate the directory, user accounts, Pro dashboards, reviews, saved businesses and quote requests.
- To verify email addresses and, where requested, business ownership.
- To show businesses aggregated statistics about their listings (for example, profile views and phone clicks).
- To send service emails such as account verification, quote-request confirmations and notifications, listing approvals, review and question notifications, and review invitations requested by businesses.
- To moderate content, prevent spam and fraud, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- To improve the Site and comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
- With businesses you contact: when you submit a quote request on a business profile, the details you enter are sent to that business so it can respond to you.
- With matched businesses: when you use “Get free quotes”, your request is sent to up to three businesses that offer the service in your area, ranked as described on our Pricing page. If no business matches, our team keeps your request to follow up with you.
- Public content: business listings and published reviews (with your display name) are visible to anyone.
- Service providers: companies that host the Site, deliver email, or (when enabled) process payments, acting on our instructions.
- Integrations a business connects: if a business connects an external reputation profile (such as Google Business Profile or Trustpilot), we retrieve its public rating information through official integrations.
- Legal reasons: when required by law or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users or the public.
We do not sell your personal information.
Emails we send
Service emails are sent from an address on our own domain (for example, noreply@us-corporate-listings.com). We do not sell or rent email addresses. A review invitation is sent at most once per business every 30 days, and you can ignore it — no account is created unless you choose to sign up.
Payments
If paid plans are purchased online, payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Your choices and rights
- You can update your name, email, photo and password from your account at any time.
- You can remove saved businesses, and Pros can edit their listings from the Pro dashboard.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to close your account, by contacting us through the Contact page. Some information may be retained where needed for legal, security or fraud-prevention purposes. Published reviews may be removed or anonymized on request.
- Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. We will honor verified requests as required by applicable law.
Data retention
We keep account and listing information for as long as your account is active. Quote requests and usage statistics are retained as long as needed to provide the service to the business concerned and for reasonable record-keeping, after which they are deleted or aggregated.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above.
